Leviamoci il cappello: con una ventina di album all'attivo i Sonic Youth sono una delle band di punta dell'aletrnative/noise rock americano. Partiti dall'esperienza no-wave, i Sonic Youth si sono sempre proposti  di creare un proprio carattere espressivo attraverso la sperimentazione delle possibilità offerte da strumenti rock convenzionali come il trittico chitarra+basso+batteria. Tratti riconoscibili della loro espressione musicale sono l'utilizzo di accordature "alternative", chitarra preparata e di feedback vari, l'improvvisazione come valido ausilio creativo ed espressivo (vedi i capostipiti in tal senso, i Velvet Undeground) e l'eliminazione delle barriere distintive tra strumenti solisti e strumenti ritmici.Qui li ritroviamo sul palco dell'Avalon Ballroom di Boston, il 14 agosto 2004, con una bonus track tratta dal popolare programma televisivo Tonight Show (qui il video), condotto da Jay Leno.
