Free Download: ELVIS PRESLEY - Hilton Las Vegas 1974

Non avevo ancora inserito nei miei downloads qualcosa di Elvis "The King" Presley; l'omissione era grave... anche perchè Elvis ha rappresentato, unitamente ai Beatles, il mio primo grande amore musicale di bambino! Giocando coi 45 giri di mio padre col mio mangiadischi, già a 4/5 anni avevo cominciato ad appassionarmi a quella voce unica, a quello stile inconfondibile.

Per rimediare vi propongo una chicca degna dell'occasione, il bootleg di uno show tenutosi il 2 Settembre 1974 all'Hilton di Las Vegas. La qualità audio è, come ascolterete, eccellente ma un altro motivo fa di questo bootleg un pezzo di storia presleyana. Un concerto citato nel fondamentale volume "Elvis - The Complete Illustrated Record", scritto da Roy Carr e Mick Farren, uscito nel 1982, dal quale estrapolo:

"During a 1974 Las Vegas season, Elvis went so far as to stop the show to deliver a tirade against press stories which dealt with a paternity suit against him and alleged that he was using heroin."
